Corporate Officer With over 29 years of private security experience, Alex Bocaranda is the principal owner of Security Management Innovations with control of all administrative and operational functions. As founder of Security Management Innovations Alex is responsible for setting a strategy and vision to determine which markets Security Management Innovations will enter, he personally oversees all strategic planning, business development, and consulting services. Assures the organization and its mission, programs, and
services are consistently presented in a strong positive manner. Alex Bocaranda has designed and implemented a philosophy that has seen his company grow from ten employees to over three hundred employees and expanded operational activities to Colombia, South America.

As a mentor of his own philosophy and initiatives Alex Bocaranda has taken his beliefs into the

Professional Corporate Security Company James Ares, Operations Coordinator

James Ares was born and raised in Miami. Shortly after graduation James pursued a carrier in the security field and has been a Florida Licensed Security Officer/Supervisor for over 37 years. James has worked with Miami-Dade Parks and Recreation Department and assisted with the startup of the  Park Ranger Program, later was promoted to the rank of Sergeant within  4 months and was assigned to supervise several parks in the Dade County area. On December 1981 he held the position of Supervisor at The Four Ambassadors Hotel and Condominiums.

 In 1984 James was hired by the local Anheuser Busch distributor in Miami and held the title of Venues Manager/Special Events Coordinator where he was assigned to head up the security details for all events sponsored by Anheuser Busch in the Miami-Dade County area.

In 1998 he was hired for the position with the Security Department at the Miccosukee Tribe as a Security Captain for the Casino and Hotel locations.  

In 2001 he was hired by a security agency for the position of Administrative Captain for the South Florida Federal Contract in the areas which covered from West Palm Beach to Key West and was in charge of scheduling for the contract which contained over 350 employees covering all the Federal building and properties.

In June of 2009 was hired by a South Florida security agency and held the positions of Supervisor in the K-9 division and armed high value cargo escorts. In February of 2016 after completing the required training he was given the positon of Armed Personal Protection Officer for the Miami Dade Transit

  Francisca Zurita, Operations Coordinator 

Francisca Zurita comes on board with numerous years of experience in the security industry. Before joining our Security Management Innovation family, Francisca managed an average of 100 plus employees. As a security service sub-contractor account manager for Miami Dade County, she dealt with the scheduling of guards in the Miami-Dade Parks, Marinas, Libraries and Airport sectors to include various positions such as; Human Resource Coordinator, Recruiting Manager.


  Maria Leonardo Comptroller, CFO 

Maria  brings  over  25  years  of  finance  and  accounting experience to SMI. With her educational background from Florida Atlantic University and comprehensive knowledge of accounting and taxation principles and guidelines as well as the necessary procedures to prepare and update our company financial information, Maria is responsible to manage and oversee all accounting operations.


  Stephany Ramirez, Staff Accountant 

Stephany joins our Security Management Innovation’s team to support the CFO and Senior Accountant in carrying out the responsibilities of the Accounting Department where she is responsible for billing activities, such as accounts payable and accounts receivable. She has an Associate Degree in Arts with concentration in accounting and brings 5 years of accounting experience obtained by working with a large CPA firm.


  Georgette Champsaur, Junior Staff Accountant 

Georgette joins our Security Management Innovation’s team to support our accounting department. With over 20 years’ experience in Domestic and International banking finances. Her attention to detail and overall knowledge of accounting, bookkeeping and the front-office makes her a great addition to our office staff.


  Karen Avila, Administrative Assistant.

With her resourceful background in Marketing and customer service she readily assists officers, clients and the administrative staff, she has vast experience in customer service and sales. Mrs. Avila studied publicity and marketing In Caracas, Venezuela


  Issa B Gonzalez, Human Resources Specialist/Recruiter

With more than five years of experience in Human Resource and Staff Recruiting, she also brings an extensive customer service background.   Issa, along with our Security Management Innovations Executive Staff will bring the knowledge to perform her new role, and position as the Human Resource Specialist / Personnel Recruiter.


  Henry Torrellas, Business Development Specialist

Henry has built a lifelong career in business management, fostering a reputation where ever he goes based on a commitment to excellence and superior quality of service. This philosophy has of course been employed not only among the clientele he has garnered, but likewise, his managerial higher-ups, his social talent and capacity for creating relationships in office and outside of it is second to none. With over a decade of intensive expertise in office and business development, his vocation began as a warehouse manager and coordinator, where, he quickly displayed his innate talent to inspire his peers and underlings to perform at their maximum potential, using precise care morale building techniques to promote correct action and deter procrastination among those he supervised. Realizing his aptitude for leading others to go beyond their normalized productivity, he soon jumped from the warehouse of an employer to one of his own, founding Torrellas Special Events LLC. Henry began to consult with many prominent entrepreneurs and aspiring tycoons who desired his networking skills. He brings to SMI the sales, marketing and customer relations to ensure SMI meets all our customer’s needs with his 20 years of experience in sales and marketing on the exotic vehicles and air planes industries.


 Gilberto Vega, Account Manager 

Not only is Mr. Vega accountable for security staff and security management on site, he is responsible entirely for the day-to-day security operations. As Site Captain, he ensures that security  members have the required valid state and federal licenses to conduct security duties on an MTSA facility, prior to and when they are placed on duty. Other functions include overseeing hiring, training and evaluation of the security staff, as well as conducting payroll, scheduling and record keeping.  Mr. Gilberto Vega maintains compliance of the site facility in accordance to site guidelines and regulations, performs security inspections, assists FSO with preparation for weather events and maintains records of all containers that exit the site.


 Carlos Portu Del Valle, Account Manager

Mr. Carlos Portu oversees time keeping and guard schedules for both Amerijet locations, warehouse and ramp. He is not only regularly checking for the proper use and function of onsite equipment, but also making rounds to ensure the safeguarding of the client’s assets, alertness and impeccable appearance of guards, and top quality service at all times. Some of his responsibilities include setting up employee meetings and trainings, reports and daily logs. He is in direct contact with the client on a daily basis. 


 Gilbert Silva, Account Manager  

As the Account Manager, Mr. Silva and his team (approximately 45 Security Officers and supervisors) is responsible for professional protection, safety, and security of assets, property, personnel, customers and all visitors, at the UPS Air Cargo & Americas Hub facilities. Primary duties   include serving as the MDAD ID Coordinator, generating schedule for all security staff members and submitting weekly payroll totals for billing, minimizing overtime caused by call-outs, vacations or extra coverage security detail and performing security    patrols, protecting property from theft, embezzlement, sabotage, trespassing, fire and accidents and reporting any unlawful activity. Other tasks are the assurance that access control to premises being protected, to investigate all accidents, incidents, trespassing, suspicious activities, safety and fire and to neutralize situations calmly with tact and sense.
